Bernard Butler Playlist : Howls & Whispers Exclusive
24.10.12
Musician and record producer Bernard Butler needs little introduction. Regarded by many as the greatest guitarist of his generation, the ex Suede man has a catalogue of production credits that also make him one of Britains greatest producers working today. First emerging with Suede, with whom he went on to win a Mercury music prize, Bernard distinguished himself from his contemporaries with his remarkably original and influential playing style and song writing ability. Post Suede, Bernard moved into the world of production, unrestricted by genre or scenes he went on to produce records for an eclectic roster of artists including; Neneh Cherry, Bert Jansch, The Libertines, The Cribs, Duffy and Tricky to name a few.
Here is a playlist he has generously offered up exclusively to us. He told us that this was his accompanying playlist when he ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon a few weeks ago. He ran in aid of The Bobath Centre in East Finchley which assists children with cerebral palsy and these are the tunes that motored him towards the finish line.
